[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his painting by John D. Arnold depicts the killing of Sheriff Galba Branson and Ed Funk by the Miles brothers at a July 4th picnic at Kirbyville in 1889. This story is just one of many which are included in the upcoming Bald Knobbers presentation at the White River Valley Historical Society’s quarterly meeting on Sunday, March 13th, weather permitting, at 297 Main St., Forsyth. Social time and refreshments begin at 1:00pm, with a short meeting and the program following at 1:45pm. The free event is open to the public.
