Throughout history, women have found ways to add beauty to everyday, useful items. Our “fancywork” exhibit showcased many talents, from quilting to embroidery to the nearly lost art of tatting. There was a special section of feed sack items, sock monkeys, lots of quilts and quilt squares, and a wide variety of crochet.
A special display of dozens of crocheted items by Ethel Mclemore of Forsyth was featured in the museum’s gift shop. Mclemore donated the items in May to be sold for the museum’s benefit.
