Dr. George Stacey’s medicine-filled saddlebags, over 70 vintage medicine containers, Dr. Roy Gillespie’s black bag, and other memorabilia are showcased as part of the Remedies exhibit at the White River Valley Historical Museum in Forsyth.

Photos and information on a variety topics such as drug stores, public health issues, doctors, midwives, Skagg’s Hospital, folk medicine, and vintage advertising were explored. Memorabilia from Canote and Forsyth City (Parrish) Drug Stores, Whelchel Funeral Home, Dr. Roy Gillespie, as well as a replica “Granny Woman cabin”, were also on display.
