Publications

The White River Valley Historical Society has published a periodical since its inception in 1961. Initially it was published quarterly and was called the White River Valley Historical Quarterly. For a few years, it was published twice each year and was called the White River Valley Historical Journal. Proudly, it is published quarterly again, hence the name change back to Quarterly.

Each member of the society receives a copy of the quarterly which covers a wide range of topics including histories of businesses, water mills, Civil War diaries and reminiscences, logging, hunting and fishing. Of particular interest to genealogists are cemetery records, and genealogical articles about individual families. The Springfield/Greene County Public Library has published most volumes of this periodical on the Internet through 1998 and provides the ability to perform a keyword search.
