Scouts Install New Sign

In addition to working on Cupp Cemetery in Northwestern Taney County, Scouts installed a new sign, which they had had made by a class at Hollister High School.

One of the most popular service projects for Boy and Girl Scouts of all ages is working with our Cemetery Hoppers committee to help preserve cemeteries. Over the last three years, our projects have helped four Girl Scouts achieve Gold Awards, and four Boy Scouts attain their Eagle status. The majority of the projects have involved cemetery cleanup, training on safe handling practices, dowsing, transcribing and photographing tombstones. Two of the projects also involved uploading photos and memorials into the Find A Grave site currently used by the committee for its’ records.
