‘Boom Years’ Exhibit at Branson Centennial Museum

An in-depth look at the past 20 years of Branson’s entertainment industry is on display at the Branson Centennial Museum, one of two museums operated by the White River Valley Historical Society.

“The Branson Boom Years”, an original exhibit designed by Branson Update Magazine publisher Michael London, features a timeline of photos and stories of Branson shows and major attractions, as well as a sampling of major marketing activities that helped create the “Branson Boom”. London arrived in Branson in 1994, starting the trade publication with the vision of serving the informational needs of professional tour operators while planning visits to the area. In the process, thousands of photographs and hundreds of stories have been compiled. The magazine, heralded by industry members as their ‘Branson Bible’, provides readers with detailed information and live-action show photography, much of which has been incorporated into the display.

The free exhibit will run through December 20th in the Centennial Museum’s “Jim D Morris Gallery”, located at 101 Veterans Blvd (corner of Business 65 and W Hwy 76), in historic downtown Branson. Hours are Monday–Saturday, 10:00–4:00. Call 417-239-1912 for more information, or email info@wrvhs.org.
