Reservations are now being accepted for a monthly series of free genealogical research classes with the White River Valley Historical Society. The series, held at the WRVHS in partnership with the Taneycomo Chapter DAR, will begin on Saturday, June 3rd. Space is limited, and must be reserved in advance.
Each session will include a short presentation and hands-on project for various free research websites, followed by time for participants to work on their own research, assisted by experienced genealogists from both organizations. Basic computer experience is required. Reservations may be made by calling the Society at 417-546-2210, or emailing info@wrvhs.org.
The White River Valley Historical Society includes a museum, research library, and bookstore/gift shop at 297 Main Street in Forsyth. Hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00–4:00. The Society’s Branson Centennial Museum (417-239-1912) is located at 120 S. Commercial in downtown Branson, is open Monday–Saturday, 10:00–4:00, and includes the Reish Family Gallery, as well as a bookstore/gift shop. There is no admission charge at either location.
