“Learning about History” event at WRVHS

Boys & Girls Club Member

A member of the Forsyth Boys & Girls Club discusses his research with Managing Director Leslie Wyman.

On Sunday, September 9th, 2012, visitors to the White River Valley Historical Society will learn more about the variety of free educational courses and events the Society offers. The presentation will showcase Forsyth Boys & Girls Club members who participated in the two summer history courses offered this year, including interviews with the older students.

In these filmed visits, the students discuss the life and times of the Forsyth-area person they researched, as well as what they learned about the old and new town. Other courses offered in 2012 include research workshops and multi-week courses, a lecture session on the Civil War, and numerous presentations to local schools and other groups.

Social time during this special free event will be held from 1:00–1:45, followed by a brief business meeting. The presentation will begin immediately after the meeting, followed by distribution of Award Certificates to each Boys & Girls Club participant present at the event.
